Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center. 

Monday, June 25

UAB postdoc to compare renal sodium differences

Dr. Eman Gohar, a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will give the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology presentation, "Sex Differences in Renal Sodium Handling," at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 25, in classroom 5A.

Louisville faculty to review oral bacteria, esophageal cancer

Dr. Huizhi Wang, assistant professor of oral immunology and infectious diseases at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, will present the Microbiology and Immunology seminar, "Oral Bacteria Induced Host Anti-inflammatory Responses and Their Contributions to Esophageal Cancer Susceptibility," at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, in room 4A.

Vandy faculty to discuss decision-making, patient safety

Dr. Matthew B. Weinger, professor of anesthesiology, biomedical informatics and medical education and vice chair for faculty affairs at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, will give the Department of Anesthesiology Grand Rounds presentation, "Clinical Decision Making and Patient Safety," from 6:30-7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, in room LH122 of the medical education building.

Kentucky Ph.D. candidate to cover HTN, green monkeys

Megan Rhoads, Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biology at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, will give the Department of Physiology and Biophysics presentation, "Spontaneous Hypertension in the African Green Monkey," from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, in room CW308 of the Classroom Wing.
